The Nigerian lawmakers are moving to immortalize the late monarch of Ibadan land, Oba Samuel Odulana who died on Tuesday, January 19th at the age of 101.
In a motion by Rilwan Adesoji Akanu ( Oyo South senatorial district) and 16 others, the lawmakers expressed sadness over the death of such historical icon.
They noted his exemplary character and patriotism exhibited in his service and his active role as a soldier in the second World War.
The lawmakers observed one minute silence in his honour and resolved to send a delegation to condone with the family, people and government of Oyo State.
They also urged the federal government to immortalize the deceased by naming a national or state monument after him. See His Burial Arrangements Here
