The
All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has accused five Accord
chieftains of trying to mislead the judiciary and the public in their
alleged plans to unseat Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, who defeated their
candidate, Oyebisi Ilaka.
The five persons in a suit filed last
month at a Federal High Court, Abuja, alleged that they were misled into
voting for Senator Sunmonu and having discovered that “she is a British
Citizen”, they urged the court to remove her.
In a statement yesterday in Ibadan by
its Director of Publicity and Strategy, Olawale Sadare, the APC
described the five men as liars seeking another furtive means to
blackmail a senator.
