The Oyo-Ogbomoso axis of the Ibadan-Ilorin express road is said to be included among the five roads approved in the 2015/ 2016 by the 8th Assembly This was disclosed by senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial district, Mrs Monsurat Sumonu, while receiving the progress report on the road from the contractor. Sumonu, who expressed dissatisfaction with the state of the road lamented the level of accidents on it, and promise to ensure a follow-up on the development. The former speaker Oyo state House of Assembly, who also pledge her continuous support for the advancement and of Oyo Central and the state in general urge Nigerians no to relent in their prayers and commitment to the growth of the nation.
One of the directors of the company handling the road project, Mr. Nathan Yusuf, told Sunmonu that the construction of the road was halted due to lack of funds
It would be recalled that the road was initiated by ex- president Olusegun Obasanjo, and the Ibadan-Oyo and Ogbomoso-Ilorin part of the road was inaugurated during the Jonathan administration.
