4 ladies arrested in Oyo for running prostitution ring

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Oyo State command, has arrested four suspects in connection with alleged prostitution and human trafficking at Agureje check point, Saki border area of the state. Mr Salawu Aderemi, Deputy Comptroller of Immigration in the command, who made the disclosure, said ‎the suspects were arrested while trying to cross the border into Burkina Faso. He said that three of the suspects were females between the ages of 17 and 25 alleged to be prostitutes living in Burkina Faso. He added that fourth suspect is a 25-year-old woman, Airhuoyuwa Favour, who is the trafficker of the three prostitutes.

 
Aderemi said: “We arrested the four of them at our border post in Saki area on Monday while trying to enter Burkina Faso.
“On interrogation, we found out that the three victims had valid ECOWAS passports while the suspected trafficker had a residential permit in Burkina Faso.
“We will hand them over to the National Agency for Prohibition of Traffic in Persons for appropriate action.”
