10 students of the Ibadan Polytechnic ( Abimbola Idris, 23, Mayowa Samuel, 22, Gbolagade Opemipo, 19, Idowu Alaga, 23, Jonathan Amagiya, 20, Damilola Akanni Monye, 18, John Nwebo, 20, Yusuf Lawal, 20, Adedamola Adetola, 23, and Olaide Olakunle, 25.) who are allegedly members of secret cults have been nabbed by the Oyo State Police Command.Speaking with pressmen yesterday, the state commissioner of police, Muhammad Musa Katsina, said that the cultists were arrested while trying to carry out their nefarious activities in the institution.
According to him, some cult members of the Polytechnic Ibadan, who unlawfully assembled and carried out nefarious activities that disturbed the relative peace of their institution in March 6, are currently cooling their heels at the state police command.
He said one black axe, one empty cartridge, three pairs of belts and one black cap were recovered from them.
The police assured the people of the state that criminals were in for a hard time, adding that the arrested suspects would not be spared as they would be made to face the full wrath of the law as soon as investigation was concluded.
