A Governor Abiola Ajimobi and Kolawole Ajadi branded 18-seater bus was consumed by a raging fire, from an unknown source, at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, on Sunday night. The campaign bus which had been parked in the stadium since after the Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries was burnt down in a fire which reportedly started from an uncompleted hostel in the stadium. The inferno which burgeoned with the adjoining bush was quelled by the Oyo State Fire Service.

Nigerian Tribune, on a visit to the scene of the incident observed that the burnt bus was parked beside a bush near the uncompleted building.
Speaking, Director, Facilities, Oyo State Sports Council, Mr Moshood Adedeji chided the location of the bus noting that the stadium management was not officially informed that a bus was parked.

He said: “The fire did not start from where the bus was parked. This incident usually happens every year, because there is an uncompleted hostel in the stadium. The contractor is yet to complete the project and the place is surrounded by bush. Before the fire service arrived, it had burnt the bus, it did not start from where the bus was parked.“
Meanwhile, Chairman, Ibadan North West Local Government, Mr Wasiu Olatunbosun, who visited the scene of the incident, has called for an investigation into the incident
