Black Heritage awards will spur my leadership qualities —Oyo dep gov

Oyo State deputy governor, Chief Moses Adeyemo Alake, has stated that recognition and awards are not money-oriented, but a means of adding credibility to one’s integrity and competence. Alake stated this during the 3rd edition of ‘Distinguished Leadership Award Night 2014’ of the Black Heritage International magazine, where he was honoured with  ‘Distinguished Leadership Award’. He said: “As I always tell my people, I am the deputy governor today by the grace of God and I am on this side of the table. We are praying that we come back and if we go, then we would be in another table, but if we don’t go, then we would be in another side of the table.”

The deputy governor who quitted banking for the political office, in his remarks after the presentation, stated that awards were  not purchased, but a means to add to one’s integrity and competence, adding that, “No doubt, this recognition would spur me not to relent the good leadership qualities I have built over the years.”
The award was presented to the deputy governor by the acting Registrar, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Mr Emmanuel Oladipo,who also represented Iyalode Alaba Lawson to receive an excellence award.
His Imperial Majesty, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, Prince Abdul-Jabbar Ajibola, Professor Olufunmilayo Badejo, Otunba Wasiu Taiwo, among others, were honoured at the event.
In his remarks, the Publisher and CEO of the magazine, Mr Kehinde Oyewole, stated that the motive of the recognition was to honour the icons towards their positive impact on humanity and the country at large, just as he added that the feasibility of the magazine was to correct the wrong impressions placed on the black race
