An All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Olusegun Olaleye, has commended Governor Abiola Ajimobi for responding to the call for the funding of the assembly. Olaleye, who represents Ibadan North II constituency, spoke against the backdrop of a meeting said to have been held by the lawmakers with Governor Ajimobi last week, when impeachment fever gripped the state. Speaking with newsmen on Monday, Olaleye, a former national president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), said the release of the money had shown that the governor was interested in the welfare and funding of the assembly. “It is important to appreciate the positive gesture from the governor over the funding of the House. It is equally important to let Nigerians know that the governor has funded the Assembly. “I use this opportunity to call on all fifth columnists and all enemies of the governor and the assembly to hold their breath because the relationship between the House and the governor remains ever solid and improving by the day.“I want to use this opportunity to call on every member of the Assembly to continue on the path of honour by maintaining the cordial relationship between the House and the governor to the utmost shame of our collective detractors.

“The latest development is a further testimony to the leadership dexterity of the governor and his wealth of wisdom in crisis moments. The resolution of this issue has shown that the governor is not only in charge but also in control.” “We call on the governor to continue to give the Assembly every necessary attention it deserves. This, we are confident, he will continue to do as the leader and architect of modern Oyo State,” the lawmaker said.
